I am sitting alone in my home office, with soft light coming through the window. Everything is calm and still, and I am deep in thought.
In front of me stands my compass, a chart called My Life in Weeks. It shows how time has passed in my life. Every Sunday I check a box. Half of the little boxes are already filled in with dark ink, reminding me how much time has gone by, and how fast life moves.
But I am not focused on the past. I am in here and now, grateful for my life and ready for what’s next – the empty boxes ahead of me.
This moment feels really important. The last row of boxes represents the past year, my 42, which has been full of growth and thankfulness. I’ve gotten to know myself better and found a new purpose: to adopt a deeper, more indirect but profound style of helping my family and the people around me to take control of their own lives and feel responsible for them.
I the last months I created a mantra that helps me in my new mission: “Human with others, machine with myself.”
This year, I also managed to incorporate meditation into my daily habits, I learned to be more patient, and to enjoy the true power of silence. These things helped me slow down and really listen to myself. They gave me peace and helped me see what matters most.
I’ve been watching and learning from people I admire, trying to become someone others can look up to. I’ve been keeping track of how being a good example can make a real difference. This past year, now a strong memory, isn’t just a line of boxes – it’s a bright light that guides me forward.
This is the path I want to keep walking, toward lasting balance and a true feeling of joy and meaning in my life.
